Many thanks to all of you who cheered on my singing and songwriting, encouraging me to pursue the American Dream of rock stardom. However, my dreams have led me elsewhere. Music will always be an essential part of my life, but the need to create my own music has moved on. I found that it was a way in which I could express feelings that I otherwise had a difficult time, well, feeling. Using songwriting to explore them was a safe way to do so, but I could only subsist this way, unable to experience life as it is and as I truly am. Plus, my songs were based on negative experiences, and I think most happy songs are stupid, so I won't be writing any of those!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my amazing boyfriend Shaun for being the polar opposite of the guys who inspired my songs. Had I believed men like him truly existed (you know, emotionally mature, responsible, trustworthy, and loves metal!), I never would have wasted my time with anyone else. If I ever wrote happy songs, they would be about him. And maybe my cats.
Also, I will be forever grateful to Dennis and John of NUMIC for the contributions of their time and considerable talents. They helped turn my black and white sketches into full color illustrations.
